What was your favorite Super Series race for 2001 and why?

My favorite race this year was Escape From Granogue. Great climbing with a little singletrack in the heat left me spent after this one, but very fun!!!

Pretend you are coaching your closest competitor........ what would you tell them to do differently in 2002 in order to beat you?

To beat me?? Never!!(except for Rob & Kyle) I would tell them to take advantage of my main weakness and pass me when you know I'm hurting.

What is it about mtb racing (BESIDES WINNING) that is MOST fun for you?

The best part of racing this year was the friends I made and the unique subculture of the sport. Riding and racing gives me a crutch to fall back on when I have a rough day. It is a way to purge myself of the impurities that the cruel world so easily feeds to me.

What month do you plan on coming into fitness for the 2002 season?

Late April, I think. How about a calendar of events to help a little mountainbikeracer!

What month do you start your pre-season training?

November

How do you deal with riding in the winter conditions (cold, snow, ice, lack of daylight)?

Mostly just deal with it. If it's cold and raining I use an indoor trainer with my old road bike.

What are your goals for the 2002 season?

To race sport class and follow my training plan as closely as possible.

If there was just ONE thing that you would like to see improved for next year (2002) - what would it be?

Water that doesn't taste like warm sewage at the water stations.
