What was your favorite Super Series race for 2001 and why?

Carbondale! I love that course. I have raced there for the past three years and have never gone away disappointed.

Pretend you are coaching your closest competitor........ what would you tell them to do differently in 2002 in order to beat you?

Strange question...don't know what I would say...

What is it about mtb racing (BESIDES WINNING) that is MOST fun for you?

The best thing about MTB racing is hanging around with your buds before and after the race. I enjoy the social aspect of racing more than the actual race.

What month do you plan on coming into fitness for the 2002 season?

What month do you start your pre-season training?

I never stop riding my bike...the MTB season goes year 'round for me. I just love riding my bike!

How do you deal with riding in the winter conditions (cold, snow, ice, lack of daylight)?

Winter riding is wicked fun. I used to ride year 'round when I lived in Maine. The conditions up there are much more extreme than what we have here in Philly. I used to ride homemade studded tires with carbide car tire studs on a singlespeed setup (shifting does not work when it is frozen). I would take off my clipless pedals and put on huge BMX platform to accommodate super warm winter boots...those were the days.

What are your goals for the 2002 season?

Have as much fun as possible.

If there was just ONE thing that you would like to see improved for next year (2002) - what would it be?

Personally I would like to see some classes combined. If there was an open expert class that combined all of the pros and the expert 19-30 classes together, the level of competition would be much higher. Keep on doing everything else the same...mountainbikeRACER.com rocks!
