Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?
I've done a lot of work on the course over the past couple months, and ridden it a bunch of times so I knew what to be prepared for.
Did you make it up all of the hills?
On the first and second laps I made it up all of them but on the third I walked up the second climb on the Weymouth hill, but made everything else.
What was your favorite part of the course?
Deputy's woods, built by Bill Deputy himself.
Were you strong from start to finish?
Well, I actually felt pretty crappy on the uphill road start and I went into the singletrack second to last. But after Deputy's woods I jumped into second. After that I was pretty consistent.
Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
No, not that I can remember.
When did you put the hammer down?
I was riding hard the whole time, but I got a real gap on the Greenhouse climb on the first lap.
Did you have any unusual problems?
No
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
Yeah everybody worked hard and the timing guys redeemed themselves with some very fast and accurate results.
Is there anything you would like to add?
See everyone at Iron Hill, and you're the man Bill.
