Joey Thompson (Wooden Wheels) 1st Place Junior on a mountain bike - MAC Cup CycloX Finals 2000

Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?: No, I was well rested and looking forward to the end of a very fun and extciting cross season.

Did you achieve your goals for this race?: Yes, my goal was to win which I did.

Were you strong from start to finish?: Yes, I started strong and rode with the same person (Tom McDaniel) for the entire race.

When did you put the hammer down?: I was riding hard the whole race, but I attacked when the 2nd place JR. flatted.

Did the extra high barriers give you any trouble?: No, I think the ones last week were higher.

Did you have any unusual problems?: No, but I fell once through a barrier set.

Did the cold weather affect you during the race?: No, my feet were numb the whole time but that didn't matter too much.

How would you rate the course?: I though the course was excellent. Dave and the other FSVS guys did a great job.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?: Yes the race was run well. We stared on time, the results were right and the awards were done shortly after the race.

If you could do the race again - would you do anything differently?: No, when you win you don't really want to change anything.

It's the end of a long season, how did you maintain your fitness?: I raced every weekend for the past month or so and I did some group rides on the mountain bike during the week.

Is there anything you would like to add?: No, thanks for the interview, the site looks good.
