Matt Vahey

How was your fitness level going into this race?

Close to where I wanted it to be, but still needs work.

Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack?

Yes, but it was a struggle as there were six guys very close battling for position.

Were you strong from start to finish?

I picked up on the second loop

When did you put the hammer down?

After the first wash out I had with a competitor, we were fighting for first into the single track, and we were not giving up our line on the first gravel turn, we both went down, and I lost a lot of time.

Did you have any unusual problems?

Besides the wreck, no. I did have a lot of flats on the pre running the week before.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

AWESOME, great job goes out to FSVS and Henrys Bike shop.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

There was a lot of talk during the race, but that made the race that much more fun.

Anything you would like to add?

Looking forward to another DRY race.
