Did you do everything you could to prepare for today's race?
I tried to, but working and training every week is tough.
Did you have any problems getting into the singletrack?
Not at all
How did you like the climbs?
Somewhat technical and challenging but not too hard.
Were you strong from start to finish?
I wish, I had a pulled stomach muscle from the race a week before. I was just trying to maintain a fast pace.
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
Yes, until the end of the race. There was no sign or official telling you which way to turn at the finish of the race. I actually went out for another half lap and came through the start/ finish line backwards after most of my class had finished.
When did you put the hammer down?
Right from the start
Did you have any unusual problems?
No, other than missing the finish line and going on an extra half lap.
Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
I just want to thank everyone who backed me up on finishing first place. After doing an extra half lap I ended up 6th or 7th, but the top 3 riders stuck up for me and let the officials know that I would have finished first. So thanks to Phillip Wayne, Ed Bush, Les Leach and Mike Yozell
Did you feel any extra excitement since this is the final Super Series race?
Not really, I just wanted to finish.
If you had just ONE thing that you could change to make next year's series better....... what would that be?
Not a thing, this series has been great. I will try to make all of the races next year. I only missed one this year.
Anything you would like to add?
It's been a great season, looking forward to next year..
