Did you do everything you could to prepare for today's race?
No, I did not make time to train earlier in the week but I did race the previous Sunday in Maryland, it was a AMBS race.
Did you have any problems getting into the singletrack?
No problems getting into the single track.
How did you like the climbs?
The climbs were smaller than I expected. Going to a Ski Resort for a mountain bike race I would expect mountains not BIG HILLS!!
Were you strong from start to finish?
My race is short so start to finish it is easy to remain strong.
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
The race at Spring Mountain was run very well but I was planning an up the ski slope start not through the parking lot.
When did you put the hammer down?
The hammer was down most of the race, again my race is only one hour.
Did you have any unusual problems?
There was not any unusual problems to report. Just fine racing!
Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
When I was flying down the front main slope I unclipped out of my left pedal just before the turns on the grass. The crowd gathered at the start finish line all gasped!! They must of thought that I was in trouble? This is just a natural reaction from riding motorcycles all my life.
Did you feel any extra excitement since this is the final Super Series race?
I was very excited being that this was the final series race. -All in all racing is pure and total EXCITEMENT!!
If you had just ONE thing that you could change to make next year's series better....... what would that be?
One thing that would make the series better next year is to have the same number plate throughout the race series. The same number each time you race would save time at sign up and locating your favorite racer on the track by number would be easy.
Anything you would like to add?
I would like to thank Phillip Wayne (Expert) for getting me into this madness of racing. His support with my training has helped me to achieve great heights in a short period of time. He is also a fine friend just don't let his crazy hair cuts fool you, he can look scary at times... I can't thank him enough!!! Thanks Phil!!
