How was your fitness level going into this race? I thought I would feel better than I actually did! Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack? Yes I was because I was not feeling very good on the climb on route to the single track. However I really struggled through the first single track. My bike was all over the place and I had to run sections that were almost flat. Were you strong from start to finish? No. I really started to fall off in during the second lap. When did you put the hammer down? There was no hammer to put down today. Did you have any unusual problems? No problems that others didn't experience (sliding, skidding, endos, crashing into trees, and chain suck). I was just really happy that I didn't have any mechanicals! Were you happy with the way the race was run? Yes. It is hard to make a call based on Mother Nature and I think the promoters had the cards stacked against them and they did the best that they could. I love this race and can't wait until next year (no mud please)! Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)? Nothing unusual today. Anything you would like to add? I want to thank my team Wooden Wheels Racing for all their support. It is a gift to be a part of such a great grass roots team! As always I want to thank mountainbikeRACER.com and Don Morrison for making this series such a great racing venue.
