How was your fitness level going into this race? Is there ever a time when we are truly "fit?" I guess it was ok...I keep pluggin' away at it. Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack? Yes. 2nd. I didn't wanna pass Karen 'cause she's a strong rider and I thought for sure she'd be on my butt if I tried to pass...but I stayed pretty close to her up until she had mechanicals. But my pushing to stay with her failed me in the end! Were you strong from start to finish? No. I pushed hard in the beginning, and lost it at the end....where I lost 2nd place by 9 seconds! (Thanks Andrea for a GREAT race!). When did you put the hammer down? Start Did you have any unusual problems? No Were you happy with the way the race was run? Absolutely.. All the Mid-Atlantic Super Series races are run very well. It's always nice to see SO many volunteers come out and help. It takes a BUNCH of people to put these races on and I appreciate all of them helping! Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)? Yes. Andrea Morris gave me a run for the money. The last three races she was tailing me or I passed her somewhere in the race. She got me today. The entire last lap she stayed fairly close. After we went through the log stump section, I got disoriented and thought I took a wrong turn and slowed up a bit. That's when Andrea got on my tail and didn't let up. She overtook me at the finish and beat me by 9 seconds. My boyfriend said I'm a woosie. It was a great competition. Anything you would like to add? CONGRATULATIONS SHERRY! |
