Another Successful
WV Trip!
by Greg Morrison |
Summer came early with 80 degrees in the Monongahela National Forest region of West Virginia last week. Trails were rooty, rocky, steep and technical. Deep bogs abounded. Riding was a mix between some proven favorites like the Huckleberry Downhill and Plantation trails and some exploration of the shorter but incredibly tough Pointy Knob and Table Rock trails. All this rider can say is that WV got more than its fair share of rocks when they were handed out. It was all good and no one got seriously hurt.
Todd and Fuzzy left early to get in two extra days but held up strong through the week. A bottle of Cuervo Reserve was opened to toast Cinco de Mayo on the cabin porch later that day. One note of interest was that Todd had crammed all his dirty clothes in a black garbage bag and they got pitched into the Denny's dumpster in Keyser WV with the rest of the week's trash. The discovery was made in Delaware and Todd found it necessary to make the round trip again to keep the West Virginia garbage dump from getting contaminated by the contents of the bag. Another successful trip.
