The B Race was fast from the start. We don't know the details yet, but we'll get them to you soon. The top three riders had cross bikes, and 4th place Kelly Keith-Wooden Wheels (who rode all but one set of barriers) used his mountain bike with 1.9 tires. A real disadvantage on the straight-aways.
Marc Vettori-Wooden Wheels, District 20 Champion had expected to be on the podium for this race but had some extremely bad luck. He was close to the front and flatted, went to the pit to get his extra bike but much to his surprise, it was missing. Ted McDaniel Jr.-Wooden Wheels had flatted before Marc and "borrowed" Marc's bike hoping he wouldn't need it.
Marc lost more than a minute looking for his bike and tried to compose himself. Someone quickly switched a wheel for him and he was off. Incredibly he worked his way from dead last to 8th place! Now that is dedication and willpower. Good job Marc!
