TEAM PEGGY

Team Peggy-Rock City is an all women's team based out of Chattanooga, TN. The Team's goal is to promote women's cycling through a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Team Peggy fields an Elite Team of 4 mountain bikers and a regional team of approximately 8 women racers in road cycling, mountain biking, and triathlons.

The Elite Team focuses on the AMBC and NORBA National Series Races, and the Regional Team focuses on races within the Southeast. The Team Peggy Club has 70 women who participate in centuries, fat tire festivals, and local races. Rock City, a Chattanooga area tourist attraction, and Kodak, known worldwide for their photography products, are the title sponsors. Other sponsors are Suck Creek Cycles and Giro Helmets.

After a successful 2000 race season, Kym Flynn returns to lead the Elite
team as a Senior Expert. She will be moving up to the Professional ranks in
the Spring. Coming off of her number one ranking in the NORBA Master's
Sport Women division, Anne Najjar moves up to the Master Women's Expert division where she will compete in both AMBC races and NORBA Nationals. Trish Albert finished 2000 ranked in the Top 10 NORBA Senior Sport Women's division and will continue racing in that division both regionally and nationally in 2001. Rachel Park joins the Team Peggy-Rock City Elite Team as a second year Senior Sport Women's rider.

The riders of Team Peggy enjoy giving back to the community by volunteering
for bike rodeos, trail maintenance days, and hosting the annual Tour De
Signal, a metric century benefiting a local women's shelter. Team Peggy
also puts on the Racoon Road Race each April in conjuction with the North
Chattanooga Cycling Club and the Lula Lake Brow Beater mountain bike race
in October.

TREK EAST COAST FACTORY

TREK EAST COAST FACTORY TEAM Update 1/30/01
Roger Bird - Team Manager

1. Chris Eatough Baldwin, MD
2. David Duvall Baltimore, MD
3. Paul Buschi Harrisonburg, VA
4. Sue Haywood Davis, WV
5. Katie Compton Newark, DE

Chris is currently training on his old college turf at Clemson in the
warmer climate, spending most of his time on the road bike. Chris had a IT
band injury last fall following his win at the 24 Hour World Solo Championships in California. Chris has worked through it and is ready to
rock for 2001.

David missed last years 24 Hours of Snowshoe because of a herniated disc in his back. David has been getting epidural shots to help with the pain and with healing. He is back on the bike working as a messenger in Baltimore City. He has been seen putting in some fast rides on his road bike around town. David is looking forward to having a complete season this year so look out!

Paul was new to the team last year and really had a great season including
the Pro win at 24 Hours of Snowshoe. Paul has been racing and training
with all the fast guys in Harrisonburg and we look forward to watching Paul
win a bunch of races in 2001.

Sue Haywood has been enjoying good snow in WV where she works at White
Grass XC Ski Center. Sue sounds like she has her ski legs and is ready to
head out west to train for her bike legs. Look for Sue to move up and try
to capture the NORBA National Short Track American woman's title this year.
Sue is super-focused and will be going even faster this year!

Katie Compton just placed 7th at the Cyclocross Nationals and sounds like
she is psyched to get on the mountain bike this Spring. Katie has struggled
through some injuries the past few years but despite all of that, still is
one of the fastest women around. Katie should have a awesome 2001 season.

Well, everyone is healed up and ready to rock. We're just logging some big
base miles and getting ready to go fast this year.

Our East Coast Team mechanic, Sean Langeheine has been promoted to the TREK National Team and will be travelling all over the World as Wade Bootes' personal mechanic. We have brought in Jon Posner as our mechanic so be sure to welcome Jon when you see him out there. Congratulations to Sean.

It is a disappointment to lose the opening race at Wye Mills this year but we have set our sight on the April 22 race at Michaux as our season opener. We are going to have the full team deal at a minimum of 8 races this year although we are still working on confirming a few dates.

1. April 22 Michaux (Ironmasters) Race
2. May 26 Patterson Park MTB Stage Race *SATURDAY race*
3. June 9-10 24 Hours of Snowshoe
4. June 17 Fairmount Park ATB Race
5. June 21-24 Snowshoe NCS
6. August 16-19 Mt Snow NCS
7. September 9 Ringwood, NJ
8. September 23 McKeldin, MD **possible rain out race**

We are excited to go back to Snowshoe this year win our new Trek Fuel bikes
and we hope Laird hasn't toned down the course, the tougher the better.

It will be the first time we have a full team event at Michaux and we are
very excited about that. We all race there as much as we can but have
never had the whole team production and support there before.

The National at Snowshoe will be fun, it has been 13 years since there has
been a NORBA National in West Virginia. We are excited to have our pro
friends join us in the Mountain State.

Thanks to our sponsors for making it all happen: Trek Bicycles,
Volkswagen, JBL, Sram, Rock Shox, Hayes, Chris King, Northwave, and Zeal

ILLUSTRATOR NEEDED

I am looking for a talented cartoonist/illustrator to design a video box cover for my 2001 world cup downhill movie called "The Circus". I'd like to have caricatures or illustrations of the riders that appear in my movie (Steve Peat, Nico Vouilloz, etc) on the box cover doing various activities. See Troy Lee Design's rider stickers for style idea. A knowledge of downhill/dual mountain biking and the personalities of the racers is an asset. My budget is tight, but there will be product perks and exposure for the artist.
