JUNE 14, 2001 UPDATE:
Team Peggy-Rock City had a successful spring race season and is well on the
way into the summer with top placings at local and regional races.
Kym Flynn obtained her NORBA Pro license after placing 3rd in Expert at the
Napa Valley round of the Tissot/UCI World Cup in April. She placed in the
Top 65 out of nearly 90 women in her first professional NORBA National race
at Big Bear, CA.

Trish Albert continues to do well in Senior Sport despite an early season
back injury. At the AMBC Knob Scorcher, she was 6th, and at the Athens
Twilight AMBC, she was 2nd. At Bump N Grind in Birmingham, AL, a serious
fall that caused several bruised ribs and numerous pulled muscles took her
out. She came back to place 4th at the Columbia, SC AMBC June 9th.

Rachel Park placed 11th at Knob Scorcher in Senior Sport, and she continues
her winning ways with numerous Top 3 placings in the Tennessee State Series
as well as being ranked in the Top 3 in the TBRA series.

Leigh Valletti has had several Top 3 placings in the Georgia State Series
and scored a 2nd place at the Columbia, SC AMBC race. Leigh plans to
concentrate on road racing the second half of the season.

Other Team Peggy members continue to do well, including Kristin Brantley,
who placed 11th in her division at the Napa Valley World Cup, Linelle
Wright, who is enjoying her first season in the Senior Expert ranks, and
Cheryl Battista who has been consistent in Expert this spring. The Elite and
Regional teams will be traveling to Snowshoe, WV for the second round of
the NORBA National series, and several members of the Elite team will race
June 29-July 1 at the NORBA National in Deer Valley, UT.

Team Peggy-Rock City is an all women's team based out of Chattanooga, TN.
The Team's goal is to promote women's cycling through a friendly and
supportive atmosphere. Team Peggy fields an Elite Team of 4 mountain bikers
and a regional team of approximately 8 women racers in road cycling,
mountain biking, and triathlons. The Elite Team focuses on the AMBC and
NORBA National Series Races, and the Regional Team focuses on races within
the Southeast. The Team Peggy Club has 70 women who participate in
centuries, fat tire festivals, and local races. Rock City, a Chattanooga
area tourist attraction, and Kodak, known worldwide for their photography
products, are the title sponsors. Other sponsors are Suck Creek Cycles and
Giro Helmets.

After a successful 2000 race season, Kym Flynn returns to lead the Elite
team as a Senior Expert. She will be moving up to the Professional ranks in
the Spring. Coming off of her number one ranking in the NORBA Master's
Sport Women division, Anne Najjar moves up to the Master Women's Expert
division where she will compete in both AMBC races and NORBA Nationals.
Trish Albert finished 2000 ranked in the Top 10 NORBA Senior Sport Women's
division and will continue racing in that division both regionally and
nationally in 2001. Rachel Park joins the Team Peggy-Rock City Elite Team
as a second year Senior Sport Women's rider.

The riders of Team Peggy enjoy giving back to the community by volunteering
for bike rodeos, trail maintenance days, and hosting the annual Tour De
Signal, a metric century benefiting a local women's shelter. Team Peggy
also puts on the Racoon Road Race each April in conjuction with the North
Chattanooga Cycling Club and the Lula Lake Brow Beater mountain bike race
in October.
