2000 was the first year the SunRace/Santa Cruz Team hit the national circuit, and we did so with great success. We won a World Championship (JR Women's DH, Kathy Pruitt) and we made a lot of podiums. For 2001 we have stepped up the size and support of the team, entering the XC field with heavy hitters Kirk Molday and Rachel Lloyd as well as stepping up our DH team, keeping Aussie Joel Panozzo and Kenny Burt, while adding Canadian wonder boy Jordie Lunn, and Aussie John Waddell.

We have also hired Zak DeMeritt formerly of Team Yeti as the Head Wrench and Rob Melzer as support and adding seignior Pieta Griffith, Craig "Skippy" Hoyt is the Team Manager/Director.
