1st Place Expert Men Senior1 was Mike Keefer - Gettysburg Bicycle, 2nd Place John Gantz - Gung Ho Bikes and third Jacob Gettier - Gettysburg Bicycle. Tony Baldo - Upstate Velo-Sicklers was 1st Place Expert Men Senior2. He ran a smooth race under tough conditions staying consistent and pulling off the win. Jens Neilsen placed second and Robert Schaffer finished up third.

Mike Yozell 5TH OVERALL!!!Mike Yozell - Guys Bicycles showed that age doesn't necessarily slow you down that much......... if you have an iron will, a fiercely competitive spirit and a lot of skill. He was mixing it up for most of the race with the Senior1 group (the fastest racers out there) and finished an incredible 5th Overall. Mike is 36 and races in the Expert Men Vet1 group. What a performance! Ransom Weaver - Guys Bicycles went back and forth with Mike through a lot of the race but just couldn't hang on to the man on fire. Here's an excerpt from Ransom's interview: "the winner, Mike Yozell, and I were together for most of the race, and we kept a pretty steady pace. By about half way we had moved up among the 6th-7th place Sr 1s and we had a lot of back and forth with them. After the last water stop I was trying to follow Yozell up a bit of hill, and chain suck stopped me dead in my tracks. I was pretty near my limit trying to hold on to him, and I never made contact again. This was about 20 minutes from the end. I must say; the section of trail between the dirt ridge road and the start/finish section of trail is the meanest stuff I think you could ever find." Third place Expert Men Vet1 was Kevin Causak - Tailwind.

Ron Hubner won the Expert Men Vet2 race. This was the first time Ron has raced Michaux. Looks like he did quite well for the first time out. Roger Shawn Withers - Original IRON MASTERS promoter!Masse was second and the man responsible for high quality racing for over 10 years on this very course SHAWN WITHERS placed third. Shawn was the driving force behind the highly popular and extremely well organized MICHAUX IRONMASTER Race Series. Check out the 10th and final race from this series in our past news section.

Matt Miller - Chain Gang placed 1st in the Expert Junior Men race. Matt showed that he has what it takes to be a highly competitive racer on tough terrain. His early season fitness was good enough for a first place even though he took it close to the limit towards the end. Paul Davis finished second place and Aaron Snyder - Tailwind finished third.

Tim Messersmith - First Capital Velo won the Expert Master 45+ race. Tim was 4th at the World Championships last year and Mid-Atlantic Super Series Champion since it's inception. This guy never quits, is an excellent technician and can descend like a twenty year old with a "no fear" sticker on his rear window.

Single Speed racers are a hearty bunch, especially when they have the nerve to race a challenging course like Michaux with NO GEARS! Top honors in this race go to 1st Place Single Speed Eric Roman - Ind Fabrication. Eric rode a strong race and must be very happy with his new Custom I.F. Titanium 29" Single Speed. Adam Pantastico placed second and 3rd Place Marc Vettori - Spot Brand said that the song "white lines" by duran duran was playing in his head for most of the race. Mr. Vettori definitely had the rhythm on the rocks for this race.
